Dinner time!

As i get ready for release tomorrow, today they've been switching over my IV meds to pill form. We started with the pain meds, which I started this afternoon as pill form. Antibiotics come next.
Unfortunately the pills did not agree with my empty stomach so the latter afternoon I've been bothered by upset stomach with the worry of vomiting. Luckily that did not happen and I made it to dinnertime. I was not able to choose my dinner tonight and ended up with pot roast, carrots, and mashed potatoes.
Didn't eat too much but I made a start.

Graduation...

Today is a big day. I'm graduating to ice chips and tonight to food.
Yesterday wasn't so exciting, walked a few laps around the floor but mostly was lying around watching tv. I'm feeling good tho, the pain isn't too terrible.

Still waiting to see the doctor this morning. At some point they're switching my pain meds from the pain pump to pills, which I prefer.
Not much more excitement from here!

It's a new day

I'm doing ok so far today. Slept on and off all night. Had people coming in to take my blood pressure, temp, draw blood, so the night was pretty busy. The dr came in early this morning. I'm
gonna be released monday morning. Still cannot have anything to eat or drink until tomorrow night. My hunger has disappeared but I'm really thirsty.
But I'll have to wait another day.
I was able to get up and walk around, and get cleaned up for the day.
Dad should be over soon.

Long day....

And I'm hungry!!
Finally got to my room after a long day. Surgery was actually @ 1:30. Finished up at 3pm and off i went to recovery. And in true fashion, nothing ever goes smoothly for me. Woke up feeling ok, and was hooked up to a pain medication pump which i was to press when needed. I guess it was set a little bit high for me and I ended up with too much. Made me feel pretty sick, and the concern was that my breathing rate was much too low and the same for blood pressure. So I spent about 7 hours in recovery where they could closely monitor my breathing.
But I'm feeling much better now and hopefully can get a good nights sleep!

Late....

It's already 12:15pm and I'm still in the pre-op area...no iv yet. So I'm guessing surgery will be later. I heard a nurse in the hall mention something about 1:30
surgery.

We're @ the hospital now, haven't gone into pre-op yet. It's about 11:00am now. Checked in at 10:30am.

Surgery time

Just called in to find out my surgery time. Arriving at 10:30am and surgery is around 12:30.
